How to Choose the Right Bedsheet Size
By Hina Collection Team2 min read
A bedsheet that is too small slips off the corners, and one that is too large bunches up. Two minutes with a measuring tape avoids both.

Step 1: Measure your mattress
- Length: head to foot, in inches.
- Width: side to side, in inches.
- Depth: the thickness of the mattress, from the top surface to the bottom edge.
Step 2: Match the size
Beds are usually sold as Single, Double, Queen and King, but exact dimensions vary between mattress makers. Always compare your own measurements with the size listed on the product page rather than relying on the name alone.
Step 3: Check the depth
Fitted sheets have a stated pocket depth. If your mattress is thick, or you use a mattress topper, choose a sheet whose depth is at least as deep as your mattress plus topper. A shallow pocket will pop off the corners.
Fitted or flat?
A fitted sheet has elastic corners and stays in place without tucking. A flat sheet is tucked under the mattress and is easier to pair with a dohar or blanket. Our bedsheet sets list exactly what is included, so you know what you are getting.
